I have the same player and had the same problem. I found the right firmware and now it works perfectly. If you want me to send it to you, give me your email adress and I will send you the file.

hehe., i think my vimax mp4 player will never work again.. there’s no available sites to download the necessary programs to reboot or reinstall the software.. whaaahh.. rik ur solutions are ok but it didnt work for mine.. hehe.. just buy a new one i guess.. just about Ph 1600 (2Gbytes)or $20-$30 anyways..

Hello, This may help you fix the blue screen hours glass on the 1.8” MP4 8gb nano look-alike ipods.

Mine won’t connect to the computer, but I had the same problem earlier and I got it working again, but just pluging it in to the usb and trying to upgrade firmware eventhough theit wouldn’t connect...Well it’s now stuck again on the blue screen and I am sending it back to the seller on ebay for a replacement. They are good machines, just not very reliable. I watched about 5 full movies in amv format on mine for a bus trip and it worked like a charm. But all of a sudden it it jammed up for no apparent reason. I thought maybe it was from running out of battery.
